Download games

I don't know how I feel about download games. Maybe it is the fact my internet is just too slow, or maybe I am just that impatient that I hate watching the little download bar move. I rather just have a hard copy and install in really quickly. Who knows maybe I just need faster internet. If there is anyone that could sell me on this topic I would be willing to listen.
Do you have the power!

New Assassin's Creed

The new Assassins's Creed has me thinking about a Sherlock Holmes that kills people. Hopefully this game is nothing like Unity or else I'll be extremely sad. Keep the game simple and fun for everyone, no reason to keep making things more complex. The storylines are always solid and a lot of fun, so I am crossing my fingers and hoping this game is more like Black Flag.

Old Faithful..

Now I'm going back to where games were not judged completely on their high quality but on how well the game was liked between gamers. I am talking about the old yet not so old Nintendo 64! I was recently playing one of my favorite games and thought why not talk about it on the blog. The game that everyone should know is Super Smash Bros. Now this game has set a goal back in this time where friends could face each other and become enemies so to speak. Super Smash Bros has really evolved since it was first released back in 1999. In 2001, the game picked up a lot of attention when the Nintendo GameCube version came out called Super Smash Bros. Melee. The game series has got to be one of my all time favorites and I would like to hear what our readers' favorite game was when they were growing up! Comment below with your game and I'll answer back with some of my insight on it!

LAN gaming

I must say I am missing the "good ol' days" of LAN parties and couch co-op. Yelling at your friends for doing either really stupid things or getting a touchdown with 2secs to go. I would really like to see couch co-op have a comeback with the gaming community. Nintendo seems to be the only company that really cares about keeping couch co-op relevant. Hopefully Microsoft and Playstation get the memo that we want more couch co-op and not just single player/online multiplayer.

What Happened to Homefront?

In 2011 THQ released a first-person shooter by the name of  "Homefront" the concept was an invasion of foreign soldiers on U.S. land. This game through you into the position of a civilian that was caught in the middle of this war. However once this game was released nothing was said of it again. Most recently however while browsing Gamestop's list of games I noticed "Homefront: The Revolution." The first installment was an okay game the graphics and mechanics were clunky but not impossible to deal with. Seeing THQ release a sequel for this game will be a breathe of fresh air if they can pull it off correctly using the next-gen tools at their disposal.

Heavensward!

Bring on the dragons...
Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn has an expansion coming out for it on June 23, 2015! This expansion is called Heavensward and it is going to be absolutely amazing! The expansion is providing a whole new story quest with three new classes. The classes that are being unveiled are the Dark Knight, Machinist, and Astrologian. The Dark Knight is the new tank that wields a great sword and has some dark magic to help increase rage generator for monsters. The Machinist is the new DPS that is able to wield the only gun in the game and can also use sentries to help in the fights! Lastly, the Astrologian is the new healer class that looks very interesting and this class is still a surprise to see in action. There is also a new race coming to the game which I feel everyone has been waiting for it to happen. This race is called Au Ra and they are dragonkin!
Let the new adventures begin!

Headsets

Plenty of popular headsets are out there including: Astro, Turtle Beach, or Afterglow. Well these are the 3 I only care to talk about.

I'll start off with Afterglow Prismatic the headset that glows the color you want, and sadly to me that is one of the only things I really like about them. The sound is not the best, and they feel cheaply made to me with thin plastic, fake leather cushions, and to me their is too much of a clamp.

Comfort: 7/10
Sound:7/10
Durability: 5/10

Turtle Beach Stealth 500X wireless headset for $229 it's not a bad price for a surround sound headset. I am still not a fan of mesh cushions around the ear cup, or the weight of the headset. If you have a beard this headset may not be for you. Durability has always been really strong, same with sound quality, and voice chat quality.

Comfort: 6/10
Sound: 8/10
Durability: 8/10

Astro A50s for a steep price tag of $299 you would hope these headsets are the best of the best. In my opinion they are just that. Comfort is amazing with the soft cloth ear cup cushions, lightweight, and ear cups that you can rest on your shoulders. The sound is fantastic with 7.1 surround sound and 3 different sound options on the headset. You could honestly wear this headset for hours and not even know it.

Comfort: 10/10
Sound: 9/10
Durability: 9/10
