Download games

I don't know how I feel about download games. Maybe it is the fact my internet is just too slow, or maybe I am just that impatient that I hate watching the little download bar move. I rather just have a hard copy and install in really quickly. Who knows maybe I just need faster internet. If there is anyone that could sell me on this topic I would be willing to listen.
Do you have the power!

New Assassin's Creed

The new Assassins's Creed has me thinking about a Sherlock Holmes that kills people. Hopefully this game is nothing like Unity or else I'll be extremely sad. Keep the game simple and fun for everyone, no reason to keep making things more complex. The storylines are always solid and a lot of fun, so I am crossing my fingers and hoping this game is more like Black Flag.

Old Faithful..

Now I'm going back to where games were not judged completely on their high quality but on how well the game was liked between gamers. I am talking about the old yet not so old Nintendo 64! I was recently playing one of my favorite games and thought why not talk about it on the blog. The game that everyone should know is Super Smash Bros. Now this game has set a goal back in this time where friends could face each other and become enemies so to speak. Super Smash Bros has really evolved since it was first released back in 1999. In 2001, the game picked up a lot of attention when the Nintendo GameCube version came out called Super Smash Bros. Melee. The game series has got to be one of my all time favorites and I would like to hear what our readers' favorite game was when they were growing up! Comment below with your game and I'll answer back with some of my insight on it!

LAN gaming

I must say I am missing the "good ol' days" of LAN parties and couch co-op. Yelling at your friends for doing either really stupid things or getting a touchdown with 2secs to go. I would really like to see couch co-op have a comeback with the gaming community. Nintendo seems to be the only company that really cares about keeping couch co-op relevant. Hopefully Microsoft and Playstation get the memo that we want more couch co-op and not just single player/online multiplayer.

What Happened to Homefront?

In 2011 THQ released a first-person shooter by the name of  "Homefront" the concept was an invasion of foreign soldiers on U.S. land. This game through you into the position of a civilian that was caught in the middle of this war. However once this game was released nothing was said of it again. Most recently however while browsing Gamestop's list of games I noticed "Homefront: The Revolution." The first installment was an okay game the graphics and mechanics were clunky but not impossible to deal with. Seeing THQ release a sequel for this game will be a breathe of fresh air if they can pull it off correctly using the next-gen tools at their disposal.

Heavensward!

Bring on the dragons...
Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn has an expansion coming out for it on June 23, 2015! This expansion is called Heavensward and it is going to be absolutely amazing! The expansion is providing a whole new story quest with three new classes. The classes that are being unveiled are the Dark Knight, Machinist, and Astrologian. The Dark Knight is the new tank that wields a great sword and has some dark magic to help increase rage generator for monsters. The Machinist is the new DPS that is able to wield the only gun in the game and can also use sentries to help in the fights! Lastly, the Astrologian is the new healer class that looks very interesting and this class is still a surprise to see in action. There is also a new race coming to the game which I feel everyone has been waiting for it to happen. This race is called Au Ra and they are dragonkin!
Let the new adventures begin!

Headsets

Plenty of popular headsets are out there including: Astro, Turtle Beach, or Afterglow. Well these are the 3 I only care to talk about.

I'll start off with Afterglow Prismatic the headset that glows the color you want, and sadly to me that is one of the only things I really like about them. The sound is not the best, and they feel cheaply made to me with thin plastic, fake leather cushions, and to me their is too much of a clamp.

Comfort: 7/10
Sound:7/10
Durability: 5/10

Turtle Beach Stealth 500X wireless headset for $229 it's not a bad price for a surround sound headset. I am still not a fan of mesh cushions around the ear cup, or the weight of the headset. If you have a beard this headset may not be for you. Durability has always been really strong, same with sound quality, and voice chat quality.

Comfort: 6/10
Sound: 8/10
Durability: 8/10

Astro A50s for a steep price tag of $299 you would hope these headsets are the best of the best. In my opinion they are just that. Comfort is amazing with the soft cloth ear cup cushions, lightweight, and ear cups that you can rest on your shoulders. The sound is fantastic with 7.1 surround sound and 3 different sound options on the headset. You could honestly wear this headset for hours and not even know it.

Comfort: 10/10
Sound: 9/10
Durability: 9/10

E3 is starting very soon!

E3 is right around the corner! (June 16-18, 2015) With upcoming titles like Star Wars Battlefront, Halo 5, Call of Duty Black Ops III, and Guitar Hero Live. With I'm sure a lot of new titles to be announced there is no reason we shouldn't be excited for this year. Who knows maybe we'll get a 4k console! Perhaps they'll make me happy and announce a new Gear of War
.

DLC

The dreaded topic of DLC. Who wants to pay $59.99 and then pay another $49.99 just so you can get a few extra maps. Give me more storyline, maps, and maybe a new game mode. Call of duty and Battlefield are the worst to me. You look at Mario Kart 8 who gave you 8 new maps, 4 new characters, and some other content for the price of $11.99, totally worth it! Cheap and good is better than maps, maps, and more maps.

Dragon Ball Super!

Now I know we've all heard about Dragon Ball Z and personally I loved the series. It was upsetting to see that it ended so soon with Dragon Ball GT but after 18 years of waiting for a new series to arrive it is finally going to happen! In July there is going to be a new series called Dragon Ball Super where it takes place after Majin Buu, after resurrected Freiza, and before GT. I have this strong feeling that this DBZ is going to be amazing and I hope everyone is going to be tuning in to see it!

Tom Clancy's The Division or Siege!

The question for the day is which would you prefer to play: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: The Division or Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege - Art of Siege Edition! Now I know these games are made by the same designers but there is a huge difference between the two. The Division is going to be based on a squad experience where a player roams the area and is able to level up which unlocks upgrades. While Siege is going to be more of a multi-player where you are in a squad that is trying to retrieve a hostage in whatever way you and your team feels will work best. In my opinion I am most excited for the Division because of the open area and leveling up for up-gradable skills. The release dates for these two games are going to be sometime this year as long as everything stays on schedule, so pre-order if you can! Let me know which one you are excited for and why you are!
Welcome to the real jungle..

Star Wars week!

Great week starting with the awesome new The Force Awakens trailer. Then the first trailer for Battlefront. Tons of excitement for every Star Wars fan, not only do we get a movie trailer, but we get Battlefront to go with it as well. I don't really need to write much about this. Just watch the trailers and be amazed.

MKX

MORTAL KOMBAT! Is it just me or when you hear the title being said you hear Mortal Kombat that little voice in your head has to scream it. With the release of MKX I felt like it was a good time to show you my list of top 10 Fatalities.

#10. Kung Lao's Blade Drag from (MK9)
#9. Johnny Cage Here's Johnny (MKX)
#8. Sektor's Robo Sek (MK9)
#7. Reptile's Tasty Snack (MK2)
#6. Noob Saibot's Make a Wish (MK9)
#5. Scorpion's Toasty (MK)
#4. Sub Zero's Beheading (MK)
#3. Cassie Cage's Bubble Head (MKX)
#2. Kenshi Sword Fan (MKX)
#1. Quan Chi's Knife Swallow (MKX)

Yes, my top 3 are all from Mortal Kombat X, but they are just so brutal I had to put them up top. This does bring me to another topic with the micro transactions for easy Fatalities. To me this is completely fine, because if you don't care to learn them and rather just press a button then by all means spend the money and get a couple. Personally I always liked to learn them just felt that much sweeter when you finally landed one on a friend.

Surviving Bloodborne

Alright! I have given you all two weeks to play and die in Bloodborne. If you haven't died in Bloodborne then you haven't been playing the right game. This game is incredibly hard yet extremely fun at the same time. The one thing I've learned is that the strength build is the easiest way to go for the game. I am using the skill build at the moment and I have found it tricky to maneuver through the areas without dying. The main part for a gamer to do in this game is to explore every crack and corner in the game! If you think you can jump to a certain ledge then do it, if you think you can roll off of the edge to a lower ledge then do it, or if you see a item that you haven't obtained then find a way to it. There are tons of items to get and a lot of areas to explore! Also try out the dungeons....I mean really put in the effort, it is time consuming, exhausting, and fulfilling!

Here are some tips to hopefully help you out through the game:

  • Fast attacking weapon for PvP
  • Co-op is KEY for some bosses\dungeons
  • Practice dodging on normal monsters
  • Level cap for co-op is 10 levels within each other
  • Don't go to new game plus until fully exploring areas

Leave a comment to the post letting me know what kind of build you are using and if you want me to answer any questions you have on the game! I hope you all are enjoying the gruesome Bloodborne!

Don't give up!

Gaming and Music

For most of us these days we have a certain genre of music we listen to while we game. Most of it is upbeat and hardcore. For most of us we probably all have one song that really makes us get on the edge of the seat and focus more than we've ever done in our life. I know I have a couple songs that do this for me, but one of my all time favorites is a song by Finch called Ender. Most of my friends agree some of them may like that song even more than I do. I say give the song a shot, even though I am more interested what other people feel is their focus song or genre? Please let us know!

Splatoon!

Coloring inside the lines was never any fun.
With Splatoon hopefully right around the corner, I believe Nintendo may have yet another game that will get high scores from multiple gaming websites. To me this game may bring strong competitive shooter/painter to the world of Nintendo. Now not only do they have Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, Super Mario 3D World, and now Splatoon. Nintendo now has some very good games for what is considered a weak console. I really hope everyone that has a WiiU gets this crazy looking game and makes the online community for this game a lot of fun. Who is going to join me?

Release Day!

Pizza and gaming together forever.

Yesterday was release day for some solid games. I decided to get Borderlands The Handsome Collection. Got some Pizza, a beverage of my choosing and started playing Borderlands 2. I was a little bummed you had to cloud save your old game to upload it into my console, but I am ok with starting over and playing through the very insane and fun storyline. As I restarted my new character I had a lot of flashbacks of psychos, the warrior and of coarse Handsome Jack's amazing one liners. I got to level 8 and pre-sequel said it was ready to play, so I switched over to that and for the rest of the night I tried every character just to see which one I liked more. By the end of the night I played more with Cl4ptr4p then I did any other character, but I am not completely sure I like his random ability. If there are other people who got this game maybe you could help me with my decision of a solid to play as character.

Case of the Mondays...

Monday morning before a couple of hot spring titles are released to the world, including two major titles Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Bloodborne. Both games will be very popular this week and I am sure they will be hard to find by weeks end. I myself will be getting one of my favorite titles in Borderlands, so I can get back on Zero with my infinite pistol build and just mow down tons of baddies. Bloodborne will be very interesting, as you can tell from Cory's post earlier he will be very excited to play the game and I bet a bit frustrated when you start to die over and over again. Possibly a game that everyone is forgetting about is Slender: The Arrival on PS4 and Xbox One. I hope every gamer can find something fun to play for the spring, because this is just the start of good releases.

Bloodborne!

I know everyone has heard about the game Bloodborne but if you have not it is coming out Tuesday, March 24, 2015, and as a gamer myself; I am extremely excited for it! Now this game is part of the Demon Souls and Dark Souls series but with this game you can no longer have a shield to protect yourself. I feel like this is going to make things more interesting in the game especially with boss fights! Now here comes the interesting part; before there was just other places you could explore but now there are unlock-able dungeons with certain items (I will let you find out what) that you can explore and get rewards! Like I said it is being released March 24, 2015, so you have time to still pre-order the game and get some awesome DLC! I have already pre-ordered and will be playing the game as soon as it gets out and I will be posting an update about how the game truly is once I have experienced! So having said all of this I hope to see you all on the game! Comment below to ask any questions so I can answer and help out!!
Welcome to your doom...

MLB

Just so everyone knows I do not own a PS4, but watching game play for this years MLB:The Show really makes me want to get one. I love baseball and this game is just beautiful. Not only did they add 9 major baseball brands to make your favorite player look even more realistic, but the overall flow of the game is absolutely amazing! Not to mention if you pre-order the game they give you a controller skin of your favorite team. I wish Xbox would come out with a solid baseball game to rival The Show so I wouldn't have this temptation.

Graphic Comparisons

Of coarse with a new Battlefield game comes a new graphic comparison video from IGN. I am always curious to see the difference between Xbox One, PC, and PS4; but to be honest it is really hard to tell the difference between the three. What do you think?

God of War III Remastered!

Now speaking of games that are coming out....the publishers of God of War have recently decided to have God of War III come out for PS4 as a remastered game, which the graphics on the game look incredible compared to the original. Even though the game was on PS3 to begin with and had decent graphics the publishers want this game to really pop with the new system. With the remastered game there will be an increase in the quality such as 1080p for graphics. The reason the publishers are doing this is that it is the 10th anniversary, which is a fantastic reason to do so! I am extremely excited for the game to be released so I can face Zeus once again to exact my vengeance from all the times he has destroyed me in the PS3 version! I am also ready for some action with a great amount of blood and gore! Now this information is also located at the IGN website.
